Man beaten with hammer in street

LEEDS: A man was pulled from his car and beaten with a hammer during a street attack.

The assault happened at about 10.50pm on Monday in Latchmere Avenue, in the West Park area of Leeds.

A 21-year-old man was pulled out of his parked Audi A3 car by “a number” of offenders and beaten with a hammer, police yesterday said in an appeal for witnesses.

He suffered head and leg injuries during the attack.
