ILKLEY: The boss of a taxi company who was caught using a television without a licence has been fined by magistrates.

Tariq Hussain, the owner of Ride Away Taxis, based in Main Street, Menston, near Ilkley, was ordered to pay more than £500 in fines and costs after Teesside Magistrates’ Court ruled that a television was being used at the business premises without a television licence.

TV Licensing yesterday urged business owners to ensure that they have a licence to avoid being prosecuted.
