WAKEFIELD: A behind-thescenes tour of the Winn family’s stables at Nostell Priory, above, near Wakefield, will take place tomorrow at 2pm. Visitors will see the riding school from the viewing platform as the aristocracy would have done. Normal admission charges apply.

RIPON: A choir will sing in the cellarium at Fountains Abbey, near Ripon, on both days this weekend between 2pm and 3pm. The abbey will be illuminated, mulled wine will be served and families can follow a nativity trail until 5pm on both days, and again on Thursday next week.

COAST: Volunteers are being urged to join a Waves of Waste beach clean led by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust around Bridlington Pier on Saturday between 10am and 12pm. The event starts from the seafront promenade outside Bridlington Leisure Centre.

OTLEY: The town’s monthly farmers’ market returns to the Market Place on Sunday from 9am to 1pm.
