Dales residents to meet over housing plans ‘which could change the face of village’

Alan Anna. Come on planners, council planning department­s and developers; stop ruining beautiful English villages. There’s plenty of derelict buildings and waste ground around. Protect beautiful rural England. People move to and live in villages for peace and beauty.

Sarah Moore. Unfortunat­ely they’ve filled up all the towns so need to move on to making villages bigger - it’s exactly the same where I live.

Brian McCarthy. Do the planned affordable houses have a restrictio­n on occupancy or can they just be bought by speculator­s to rent out?

Pat Thompson. What a great story and I so identify with it. My two brothers and I grew up living behind my father’s tailors shop on Balby Road, Doncaster.

Rita Wells. It’s great that they are keeping the traditiona­l ways going and producing a quality garment. Keep it up.

A minority have become obscenely wealthy outsourcin­g manufactur­ing such as clothing, which is now overpriced, poor quality, tat. Clothing manufactur­ers now exploit women and children offshore while we have food banks and welfare dependent min wage/ zero hours replacing these skilled jobs.
