Walk to school call for school parents

SHEFFIELD: Green Party councillors are urging parents to walk their children to school instead of taking the car after a child was nearly knocked down.

Coun Alison Teal, plus Peter Garbutt, Rob Unwin, Jon Ashe and Fran Kime from the Green Party, spoke to residents across the area about road safety after a near-miss at Sharrow School in Sheffield when a girl was also struck. Coun Teal said: “It really brings it home to you just how dangerous the situation is.”
