Tributes to victim of ‘senseless’ stabbing
TRIBUTES have been paid to a “lovely, hard-working guy” who died after being stabbed repeatedly in the leg.
The victim, in his 20s and named locally under the nickname Haze, was fatally injured before the suspected attacker fled in a car.
The “senseless act of violence” happened in Hinckley Street, Beswick, east Manchester, at around 2am yesterday, Greater Manchester Police said.
A forensics tent was erected outside a property on the residential street, which has been cordoned off. Victoria Piercy, who used to work in a local shop, said: “He was a lovely, hard-working guy who kept himself to himself.”
The victim was taken to hospital where he later died, the force said.
Officers described the suspected attacker as “possibly of Asian or Somalian heritage”.
