Council can’t act to save mill chimney

HEBDEN BRIDGE: A mill chimney cannot be saved by a council taking over ownership, a meeting was told.

Calderdale Council heard residents approached ward councillor Sarah Courtney (Lab, Calder) about the council taking ownership of the chimney at Mytholm Works in Hebden Bridge to save it from demolition. But the full council was told buying it could be a financial risk.
