Ex-electrician’s cancer battle

ERIC NEWBOUND, 77, of Doncaster, was diagnosed with mesothelioma, which affects the lining of the lungs, in October 2017 after suffering breathing problems 15 years after his retirement from Doncaster and Bassetlaw NHS Trust.

He would often disturb asbestos at work during his duties as an electrician.

“I am devastated that a job I loved has caused me cancer,” he said.
