Trains cut from new timetable
TRANSPORT: TransPennine Express has cut train services from its new timetable.
The operator will not run the planned hourly service on its new Liverpool-Edinburgh route to improve reliability. It made the announcement just nine days before the new timetable is introduced.
The firm blamed a maintenance backlog and infrastructure problems for delaying crew training. The reduced new timetable for the route is expected to be in place from December 15 to January 5.
