Man ‘tried to enter mosque with knife’

LEEDS: A man has been detained after trying to enter a mosque in Beeston carrying a knife.

West Yorkshire Police said “mental health appears to be a factor”. Officers said a man with a knife went into a butcher’s shop in Beeston Road at 12.18pm yesterday. Police then said a man tried to enter the Abu Huraira Masjid mosque, in Catherine Grove, but was turned away and later detained by police.
