Arrest after man injured in collision

WAKEFIELD: A motorist has been arrested after a moped rider was critically injured in a crash.

The 27-year-old man was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment after his moped was involved in a collision with a black Volkswagen Golf on the A61 in Wakefield just after midnight on Saturday morning.

A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and was taken into custody for questioning.
