Tenders sought for races organisation

SHEFFIELD: Council chiefs are looking for someone to organise the Sheffield Half Marathon and 10k road races.

Officers say the city’s name has been synonymous with sport for many years and they are now looking for tenders for a five-year contract, previously held by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All.

Named as the UK’s first National City of Sport in 1993, Sheffield currently has one of the highest sport participation rates of a major city in England.
