Unfair to blame Boris Johnson

-

From: Mervyn Jackson, Windmill Rise, Belper.

READERS have said that Boris Johnson did not deserve to win the election – two reasons being his failure to secure the release of a woman imprisoned in Iran and the PM’s disparagement of Muslim women.

Since the Iran government has recently shot down a civil aeroplane, it has shown how it feels about the West and it is unfair to blame Boris for their intransigence. Mr Johnson did not disparage Muslim women in general; only those who walk about in public with their faces covered.

Referring to Jeremy Corbyn, one reader admitted that ‘some of his policies may be open to question’. This is an understatement; he promises the earth, with no mention of the increase in taxes or national deficit required to pay for his policies. Corbyn has referred to the EU as a satanic state, yet he was willing to join the Lib Dems and SNP to thwart Brexit and call for another referendum. Two of the many reasons why I would never vote for him.

SO, at 11pm on January 31, Boris Johnson should ensure that Ode To Joy is played on loudspeakers throughout our land, to hold out the hand of reconciliation to our brothers and sisters who genuinely felt differently to we, the majority.

DESPITE its total bias and constant propaganda, the BBC lost the argument for Britain to stay in the EU. They are now using power and influence in pursuit of their view on climate change, freely giving air time to anyone prepared to declare “the end of the world is nigh”.

I’M not an expert, so wouldn’t dare criticise scientists over the reality of climate change. But I do question the BBC when they glibly claim that last year has been the hottest since records began. For when did these records begin?
