Injured Trinity stars set for welcome return

- PETER SMITH

AT LEAST five long-term casualties are on the verge of their Wakefield Trinity return.

Trinity are due to take on visitors Warrington Wolves on Sunday, a week after their Betfred Super League roundtwo fixture at home to Catalans Dragons was postponed because of the severe weather conditions.

Coach Chris Chester confirmed forwards Jordan Crowther (cheekbone) and George King (ankle) could come into contention for the first time since being injured playing against Leeds Rhinos on Boxing Day.

They were in line for a run-out with the reserves last Sunday, but that game was also called off and Chester must now decide whether to throw them straight in against the Wolves.

“I picked a team to play at the weekend against Catalans and I can’t see much change for Warrington this weekend,” Chester said.

“We need to get through Sunday and then we’ve potentially got Dave Fifita, Tinirau Arona, Chris Green and a few other guys to come back.”

■ Hull FC forward Chris Satae has had a three-match ban reduced to two on appeal.

Satae was charged with a grade C offence by the Rugby Football League’s match review panel for a late tackle on George Lawler in the Hull derby last Friday.

Hull contested the severity of the suspension and the charge was down-graded to a B offence.

■ Controversial signing Israel Folau has two more training sessions with Catalans Dragons to demonstrate whether he is ready to make his Super League debut against Castleford Tigers this weekend.

Dragons boss Steve McNamara said: “There’s no way I’m going to throw him into something that he’s not ready for.”
