Jobs boost for region as work starts on £ 20m production site
JOBS ARE being created in North Yorkshire by a major animal feed manufacturer.
I’Anson Brothers Ltd, has begun work on a £ 20m production facility, which is the largest investment in the company’s 120year history.
Work has started on the access road for the mill at Dalton New Bridge, which is the next phase of the development of the Dalton Industrial Estate in North Yorkshire.
The road construction contract has been awarded to the HACS construction Group, based in Harrogate.
A spokesman said: “The facility will be one of the most technologically advanced feed mills in Europe.
“The increased production capacity will complement the firm’s existing plant at Masham and enable it to meet growing demand from existing customers, secure new orders, expand its export operations and continue to be a major supplier to the agriculture sector.”
The new mill will create up to 20 jobs as well as protecting the existing 90 jobs.

The leader of Hambleton District Council, Coun Mark Robson, said: “Having one of the most advanced feed mills in Europe based in Hambleton is great news for the district. Not only will it bring with it new jobs, it will also boost our local economy. Dalton Industrial Estate is an ideal location with its great transport links and access to world class businesses.”
Lindsay Ross, a spokesperson for Dalton 009 Ltd, the developers of Dalton New Bridge, added: “It’s great to see the work start on the site access road with completion for early 2021.
“The new road is obviously also a milestone for us and will create further opportunities for development at Dalton New Bridge.”
Founded in Masham in 1900, I’Anson has grown to export its specialist horse feed products to 40 countries. The company’s headquarters will remain in Masham, where it will continue to manufacture a range of feeds.
