Tigers aim to break Crewe’s home stand
GRANT McCANN is wary of Crewe Alexandra’s impressive home record as he takes his Hull City side to Gresty Road this afternoon.
Only five sides in League One have picked up more points on home soil than the Cheshire club this campaign.
The Hull chief is anticipating an entertaining game as his side look to return to winning ways following back-to-back draws.
“They are strong at home, they have got one of the better home records in the division,” said McCann.
“They have beaten some of the bigger teams there this season.
“Like every team in this division, they have got people who can hurt you if you are not switched on.”
McCann is not worried about playing Northampton Town shortly after facing Crewe, pointing to the fact that the Easter schedule isn’t that different from normal weeks.
He added: “Historically it is when people try and pick up six points in a short space of time.
“It is no different to the Saturday, Tuesday games. Because it is Friday then Monday, it just seems crammed in a little bit.
“We are used to it, we have seen it all season.
“The players probably prefer the games to come thick and fast, particularly when you are on a good run. It is no different for us. We are only focused on this game, we understand it is going to be difficult.”
