Council looking for two senior officers offering salaries of almost £100,000

A COUNCIL in Yorkshire is advertisin­g for three new senior roles with two of the posts offering salaries of almost £100,000.

York Council is looking to recruit a director of prevention and commission­ing, a director of safeguardi­ng people and an assistant director of policy and strategy.

A job advert has claimed the three “brand new roles” will help the city “build back better”. The advert also states the jobs are part of a restructur­e of the senior management team.

It adds: “We are making some significan­t investment­s to underpin our new plans, and as a result, having completed a leadership restructur­e we are proud to announce that we have created three brand new roles, with the intention of better serving the people and communitie­s of York.

“In many ways we are embarking on a new journey, building back better and providing you with the opportunit­y to shape, lead and influence service in this great city.”

The two director roles offer salaries of up to £99,821 plus relocation fees of up to £6,740 if the successful applicants move to the city. The assistant director role offers a salary of up to £81,644.

The advert adds: “York Council exists for one purpose – and that is to support the best quality of life for our residents, now and in the future. The council serves over 200,000 residents in and around the York area – they are our greatest assets and their prosperity, happiness, health and wellbeing is a top priority.”

The job applicatio­n deadline is Monday April 12.
