Planners set to reject cafe’s ‘Viking’ shelter

Plans for a popular cafe to create an outdoor seating area are set to be turned down despite more than 100 customers praising the scheme.

Coffee shop 52 Broadway, in Fulford, York, applied to York Council for permission to build a Viking-style shelter in front of the business.

But York Council, which will discuss the plan on Thursday, is recommended by officers to turn it down.
