Resort’s Mere Cafe wants drink licence

A popular cafe that serves visitors to Scarborough Mere has applied for a licence to serve alcohol.

Darren Miller, of the Mere Cafe, off Mere Lane, wants permission to sell drinks from 10am until 9.30pm, seven days a week.

The Mere is home to a number of species of birds, plants, fish – and even otters are known to frequent the popular site in the Weaponness Valley.
