Islamic militant dies in shoot-out

Counter-terrorism police killed one of Pakistan’s most wanted militants in a shoot-out, a police official said yesterday.

Three of the militant’s accomplices escaped from the scene in Rawalpindi on Saturday night, according to officer Kashif Hussain. The shot militant was identified only as Niaz, who was involved in planning a 2015 suicide attack that killed several victims including then-home minister of Punjab province, Shuja Khanzada.
