Heading peril

THE article written by Stuart Rayner (The Yorkshire Post, April 8) should create alarm among football clubs and the medical profession.
The list of prominent footballers who have developed dementia as a result of continuously heading the ball surely signals that something must be done apart from substituting concussed players.
I suggest that the FA makes it obligatory for outfield players to wear padded head bands. They could even look quite acceptable if covered in club colours.
