Eight local authorities affected

-

BLACKPOOL’S DIRECTOR of public health confirmed the local authority was another of the eight impacted, with York, Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset, Southend-on-Sea and Thurrock said to be among those affected.

York’s public health director Sharon Stoltz has sought to reassure residents that case numbers in the city are low and the glitch affected only a relatively small number of people.

She said: “We are confident that every case that has tested positive has received their results and has been advised of this and the action they need to take. This issue did mean that some of their contacts won’t have been contacted which is unfortunate.”
