‘Some bonds go back a long way’

EARL SPENCER yesterday shared an image of himself and his elder sister Diana as children ahead of publication of Lord Dyson’s report into Martin Bashir’s Panorama interview.

He posted the black and white archive image on Twitter alongside the words: “Some bonds go back a very long way.”

The photograph shows the siblings sitting side by side in the summer sun, with a young Charles Spencer wearing trunks and Diana appearing to be in a swimsuit.

Charles provided the introductions between Diana and the journalist.

He alleges Bashir made a series of claims about the Royal Family and that he kept contemporaneous notes of their meetings.
