B&Q profits lifted with DIY boom

B&Q owner Kingfisher has hiked its halfyear profit outlook after soaring sales, with the DIY boom showing no sign of slowing.

The group saw UK and Ireland like-for-like sales jump 65 per cent in the three months to April 30.

But, trading from a year earlier was impacted by temporary store closures in the first lockdown.
