A ‘modern circus’ with traditional turns tours region
THE CIRCUS is coming to Yorkshire – Circus Montini features acrobats and aerialists performing awe-inspiring stunts.
The fast-paced show also stars an array of jugglers, balancing acts and comedy.
The organisers have also promised to wow audiences with high-quality production and choreography that “would grace any major theatre stage in London’s West End”.
The circus will be at Cattle Market Field in Holmfirth until April 10, Penistone Showground in Penistone from April 12 to April 16, and Armley Moor in Leeds from April 18 to April 24.
It will then be in Bedale for two nights from April 26.
A spokesman said: “You might think that if you have seen one circus, you have seen them all, but you certainly will not have seen anything like Circus Montini.
“It is a new concept in modern circus but owes much to the early days of this unique form of family entertainment which was the toast of the town wherever it went and attracted the lords and ladies of the day as well as the rest of the population.
“Most of today’s circuses restrict their tours to cities and major towns, a far cry from those first touring shows which were also taken to village greens and small towns. Circus Montini is following in the wheel tracks of those great circuses of the past.”
He added: “What can you expect to see while sitting in your comfortable seats? The best of circus. A blend of the traditional gymnastics which wowed audiences all those years ago, the comedy that made them laugh and the thrills that made them blink in utter disbelief.
“You will also see the incredible athleticism of acrobats and aerialists who not only amaze with their skills but risk their lives daily.”
