‘Poppins the question’ at a top nanny school

THE WORLD’S most prestigiou­s nanny school has had its first wedding in its 130-year history – after two graduates tied the knot.

Abi, 23, and Greg, 24 – whose surnames were not revealed – wed just a few days before officially graduating from their degree and diploma from Norland College, in Bath, Somerset.

The college has been training profession­al nannies for the rich, famous and Royalty since 1892.

Students learn cooking, education, housekeepi­ng and deportment to look after the likes of Prince George.

Abi and Greg were also among the first graduates to earn the new Norland-awarded degree after four years of training.

The college was granted degree awarding powers in 2019.

Greg said: “Neither of us went to Norland expecting to find romance.

“We met in the first week in September 2017 and were good friends until we started dating in February 2019.”

Abi and Greg hope to work in daily positions in London so that they can live together as a couple.

Greg added: “Longer term we would love to have a family of our own and run a smallholdi­ng and have also considered the possibilit­y of doing childmindi­ng or running a forest school alongside that.”

Also graduating were Emilia and Nathaniel who will marry in April 2023,

Dr Janet Rose, Principal of Norland College, said: “We’re incredibly proud to see our very first students graduate with a Norland-awarded degree in our 130th year.”

Newly qualified Newland nannies can reportedly earn £42,000 a year and some with famous clients are trained in getaway driving and martial arts, according to
