Farsley are in a spin after defeat to Woodlands

AN attractive Bradford Premier League programme included the top four facing from 2023 facing each other and a Pudsey derby.

Farsley’s top four all made double figures in their 177 at defending champions Woodlands, but the Leeds visitors failed their trial by spin as off-break bowler Kez Ahmed took 4-23 and leg-break bowler Brad Schmulian 3-45.

Woodlands were seen home by Tim Jackson (54no), Schmulian (58no) and Cieran Garner (41).

The other top-four clash was at Townville, who were rolled over for 121 after being sent in by New Farnley.

Visiting captain Alex Lilley took 4-27 and completed a fine allround match by scoring 54 not out in a six-wicket victory.

Harry Cullingfor­d top-scored with 67 in a solid Pudsey St Lawrence card of 254-9.

Congs were in bother at 1095 before Hassan Butt (49) and gloveman Joshua Bennett (40) helped them to 207-8.

Jer Lane had match-winners in Amir Hussain (6-33), Mosun Hussain (69) and Kyme Tahirkheli (66), who added 95 for the second wicket in a six-wicket triumph at Cleckheato­n, while Scotland internatio­nal Mark Watt took 4-28 and scored 27 for Undercliff­e but still ended up on the losing side by eight runs at Bradford & Bingley.

James Wainman, another exWhite Rose player, bagged 6-18 at Methley beat Ossett by 61 runs.

Only one match was played in the top flight in the Airedale & Wharfedale League, but it was the top clash between 2023 champions Collingham and runners-up Otley.

Opener Alex Atkinson (105) was a lone star for Otley, in their 202-6, Collingham then being dismissed for 145, thanks to Steve Brown (321) and Ollie Halliday (5-36).
