Destinatio­n Twickenham after Heath see off York

HEATH are on their way to Twickenham next Saturday after securing a 36-13 victory over Yorkshire rivals York in the Papa John's Community Cup Regional One Championsh­ip semi-final.

Josh Crickmay powered over for two tries, while others came from Ezra Hinchliffe, Joe Morrison and Oliver Cook. Chris Johnson kicked four conversion­s and a penalty to wrap up their victory.

They will take on Barnstaple in Saturday's final.

Selby’s hopes of joining them at Twickenham were dashed when they lost 29-27 at Northampto­n Old Scouts. The Yorkshire side were 27-10 ahead shortly after half-time with their tries coming from Matt Lodge and Henry Wright, while Wright also kicked four penalties and a conversion.

But Northampto­n scored two late tries to snatch the win.

Malton and Norton will play in the final of the Regional Two North Plate on Saturday after victory over Goole. Tied at 19-19 at full time, it was 26-26 after extratime, but as the away side Malton and Norton will progress.

Bradford Salem will also travel to Darlington Mowden Park next weekend for the final of the Counties One North Plate, after a 43-12 victory over Pocklingto­n.

Joining them there will be Ripon who beat Southport 40-18 in their Counties Two North Plate semi-final.

Salem will take on Aldwinians in their final, while Ripon play Ashbourne.

York RI were 29-7 winners over Hornsea in the Counties Three North Shield semi-final, and will play Ashton-under-Lyne in the final at Darlington on Sunday.

But Rotherham Phoenix’s hopes of reaching Sunday’s final in the Counties Three Plate ended with a 17-10 loss to Wallsend.
