Radio 3 in Concert

Radio 3, 7.30pm Tom McKinney presents a performance by the Hallé Orchestra recorded at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall last Thursday. The highlight is undoubtedly the European premiere of Stephen Hough’s Piano Concerto (The World of Yesterday), during which the composer is also the soloist. Works by Elgar, Dvorák and Butterworth feature too, while conductor Sir Mark Elder takes charge of the proceedings.
