A stately way to feed appetite for festival fun
CROWDS turned out for the Great British Food Festival at Harewood House at the weekend.
The event, which continues today, involves live music, demonstrations by chefs, foraging walks and children’s food.
A spokesman said: “The chef demos run on all days, with the line up changing on each day, and at each event.
“Demos start every 30mins past the hour, and they are all free to attend! So, come and grab a seat and learn something new.”
It is recommended tickets are purchased in advance online. It may be possible to buy your ticket on the door depending upon availability.
This event is now in its ninth year at Harewood House. Offering a global choice of culinary experiences, this year's festival promises to be an unforgettable experience for food lovers of all ages.
A spokesman said: “Visitors can look forward to a line up of top chefs demonstrating their skills, live music performances, and a fantastic selection of five-star street food. From mouth-watering dishes to unique culinary challenges, there's something to satisfy everyone's taste buds.
“The festival aims to bring people together through a shared love of food and offers a range of activities including the Chilli Challenge, Sausage & Cider Challenge, Kids Cookery, Cake-Off, Foraging Walks, and more. With plenty of bars and a vast artisan market showcasing the best local produce, visitors are in for a treat.”
This year, the festival offers a new VIP experience, new Cheese Masterclasses, new Dessert Stage and Live Fire Stage, children’s activities, and an emphasis on being dog-friendly.
Organisers said 2023 was a record year.
