The YOU fashion team’s runway rundown

THE JEANS Things felt very casual on the street-style front with Vetements jeans the uniform of choice. But at £880 a pair (really) we noted anyone living in the real world was in vintage Levi’s instead or possibly fashioning their own, Blue Peter- style, using scissors and an old pair from Topshop.

THE MAN OF THE MOMENT The pressure was on for Johnny Coca, who is tasked with transforming the fortunes of Mulberry, whose rocketing prices had led to a sales disaster. His show featured the sleek new Clifton bag (which starts at £425) as well as new versions of the classic Bayswater.

THE SHOW Sarah Burton brought the Alexander McQueen show home to London after years in Paris. The word beautiful is much over-used on planet fashion, but there’s no other way to describe these silk duvet coats and intricately embroidered, near-naked evening gowns.

THE ACCESSORIES We predict a mass trading-in of Chloé Fayes (the bag du jour) after the debut of JW Anderson’s Pierce bag. We are also still dreaming about these shoes. We’re calling them cocktail boots.

THE NEWBIE Royal College of Art graduate Alice Archer is an embroidery genius. Her collection of silk and cotton pieces are works of art. A small selection is currently available at Browns. The future looks bright (and very, very pretty).

THE DRINK Cîroc, which recently produced a Mario Testino-designed vodka bottle for the release of Zoolander 2, continued the fashion theme by sponsoring several LFW bashes including for Mr Porter and Erdem’s after-party at The Old Selfridges Hotel.

THE WHEELS If we win the Lottery tomorrow this new BMW 7 series is first on our very long want list. The YOU team were chauffeured from show to show enjoying the incredible in-car massage, the heated everything and the short-cut skills of our driver Garry – can he be thrown in, too, please?
