Hear talks by your favourite authors and discover some of theeayr’s otp titles

Our day begins at 11.30am with a glass of prosecco and a chance to browse through the writers’ books. We start our author sessions with bestselling novelist Jeffrey Archer, whose latest book This Was a Man completes his Clifton Chronicles family saga, and broadcaster Jeremy Vine, whose book What I’ve Learnt: What My Listeners Say and Why We Should Take Notice has just been published. Then we discuss historical fiction with three brilliant novelists and masters of the genre: Alan Hollinghurst ( The Sparsholt Affair explores themes of love, art and class in the 20th century), Rose Tremain ( The Gustav Sonata is set in wartime Switzerland) and Alison Weir ( Anne Boleyn: A King’s Obsession is the second of her Six Tudor Queens series).

After a break for early afternoon tea, distinguished politicians Harriet Harman and Chris Patten will talk about their memoirs A Woman’s Work and First Confession, both published this year. We end the day with fitness guru Rosemary Conley, whose 3-2-1 Diet offers eating plans to suit your personality; tennis legend Judy Murray, whose memoir Knowing The Score: My Family and Our Tennis Story charts challenges and achievements on and off the court; and virtuoso violinist Min Kym, who will play us out – although sadly not on the Stradivarius that was stolen from her in a King’s Cross café, so vividly described in her haunting memoir Gone.

There will be regular breaks, giving you the opportunity to get your books signed – perfect Christmas presents for friends and family. Copies of the authors’ latest books (also including some of their previous titles) will be on sale for you to buy at a reduced rate of 20% off the recommended retail price. Our Book Day ends at 5.30pm and you will go home with a fabulous goody bag.
