For this Cor­nish cou­ple, there was only ever one op­tion for their wed­ding style. “Jon and I met on the beach and much of our time to­gether has in­volved be­ing on the sand or in the wa­ter,” ex­plains Katy. “We had fallen in love with the church at Porthilly, and of­ten take our minia­ture dachs­hund Luna for walks there, or go kayak­ing from the beach.”

The stun­ning coastal scenery set the tone for a ro­man­tic, yet re­laxed af­fair, with the re­cep­tion in a mar­quee at nearby Porthilly Farm next to the es­tu­ary. .DW\ FKRVH D ÁRDW\ HPEHOOLVKHG GUHVV by Anna Camp­bell, and surf-lov­ing Jon went for a smart Moss Bros suit. The re­li­gious cer­e­mony was per­son­alised with read­ings from fam­ily mem­bers, and in­stead of an or­gan­ist, the cou­ple had singer-song­writer Joss White per­form­ing and play­ing gui­tar. “We used to go and watch his acous­tic gigs on the beach when Jon and I were dat­ing,” re­calls Katy.

7KH GPFRU KDG DQ HPSKDVLV RQ ÁRUD DQG fauna in green, white and pink. “The large arch was some­thing I wanted from the be­gin­ning,” Katy says. “It was a fo­cal point and peo­ple could take pho­tos of them­selves stand­ing in the mid­dle.” 7KLV ZDV PLUURUHG E\ ÁRZHU ULQJV KDQJLQJ from the mar­quee roof, and a minia­ture ver­sion around Luna’s neck when she popped in for an hour as a spe­cial guest.

Other coastal touches in­cluded nam­ing the ta­bles af­ter lo­cal beaches and hav­ing Porthilly mus­sels as part of the cou­ple’s sta­tionery de­sign. “They’re har­vested LQ WKH HVWXDU\ DQG \RX FDQ ÀQG D ORYHO\ VFDWWHULQJ RI VKHOOV LQ WKH ÀHOG EHDFK and church grounds,” says Katy.

Af­ter tuck­ing into shar­ing plat­ters and drinks, guests were ready to party. “When the sun started com­ing through the clouds, ev­ery­one came out­side for RXU ÀUVW GDQFH μ VD\V .DW\ ´7KH WLGH was in and the light was beau­ti­ful – it was a re­ally mag­i­cal mo­ment.”
