A dream venue and delicate hues combined to give this couple their perfect day
The wow factor was a must for Katie and Dan’s big day – and they found it in their venue, Newton Hall. “We found ourselves saying ‘wow!’ to each RWKHU DV ZH ZDONHG DURXQG IRU WKH ÀUVW time,” recalls the bride. “It felt like our fairy-tale venue. Every corner we turned, there was a beautiful room or amazing view. We talked about it all the way home and were so excited.”
In keeping with the dreamy vibe, the pair opted for a palette of cream, blush and rose gold, with the overarching theme of romance as their guide. This was captured wonderfully throughout WKH GPFRU EXW SDUWLFXODUO\ LQ WKH ÁRUDO arrangements, featuring peonies, spray and avalanche roses, freesias
and carnations. The rose gold was also present in the sequinned tablecloths and name cards – but Katie says that achieving the look was a challenge.
“All our stationery was rose gold and cream,” she explains. “But it was a nightmare sourcing rose gold card. I eventually found some on ebay!”
Accompanying their three-tier cake, the couple had a table that included cupcakes, macarons and meringues, all LQ EOXVK ´,W ZDV GHÀQLWHO\ D UHÁHFWLRQ of the bride’s sweet tooth!” says Dan.
During the planning, Katie was unsure about what she wanted to wear for her wedding, but found help in a surprising and emotional way.
“I lost my grandma, and she was my best friend,” she says. “One night, I thought of her and asked her to help me. I drew a picture of my ‘perfect dress’ – the next day, I visited Kathryn Trueman and tried on the Jodie dress from Enzoani. I realised it was the same dress I had drawn the night before. The assistants and I all had goose bumps.”
