COACHMAN’S HOUSE

Lake District

You and Your Wedding - - Pillow Talk -

WHERE This charming 19th-century cottage is in the pretty village of Coniston. Just a 10-minute walk from Coniston Water, it’s located in the Old Man of Coniston fell, with the trail for a four-hour trek starting at the foot of the driveway. WHY Few mini breaks are as romantic as an English cottage getaway, but while the former coachman’s house may look quaint from the outside, the interior is delightfully modern and chic. Whitewashed walls and plush furnishings greet you, but head through a secret passage to enter the cosy snug – an ideal place for snacking on the hamper given to you by the owners. A roll-top bath is the centrepiece in the master bedroom, but if you’re more into adventure than relaxing you won’t need to travel far; paddleboarding, gorge walking and kayaking are easily accessible. BOOK From £490 for a three-night weekend stay (sleeps four), coachmanshouse.co.uk
