Get cosy in the Cotswolds

You and Your Wedding - - Glorious Getaways -

With pretty stone cottages, winding country lanes and plenty of cosy country pubs, the picturesque Cotswolds is the ideal micro road trip destination.

Start your trip at the chic-yethomely Dormy House, just minutes from the beautiful village of Broadway. Book into the hot tub suite for the sheer indulgence, or spend the night at its pop-up alpine cabin, but not before you’ve eaten your way through the menu at The Potting Shed – the hotel’s country house restaurant. Panoramic views of the Cotswold Hills, an awardwinning spa, and a stroll through the manicured gardens should see you through the next morning, then pick up a luxury picnic hamper from the kitchen and set out to explore some of the area’s quaint villages. Wind your way through Chipping Campden (stop off for a stroll along its beautiful 14th-century high street and the 17th-century marketplace), before pootling through Moreton-in-marsh, Stow-on-the-wold, Lower and Upper Slaughter and Bourton-onthe-water, and you’ll soon feel as wholesome as a red setter on a bracing country walk. Spend the night in Northleach, before taking the next day to wend your way through the lovely little villages of Ablington, Bibury, Minchinhampton and Slad. <RX·OO ÀQLVK ZKHUH \RX VWDUWHG at Dormy House, perfect for lazy late afternoon lunch, and a much-deserved bottle of merlot, once you’ve handed the car keys back, of course.
