YOUR CAT QUESTION
We asked our online fans the following community question: Do you allow your cat to sleep on the bed at night? And does it interfere or help with a good night’s sleep?
● Rachel Paterson: Ever since I got my cat as a kitten, he has pretty much slept in bed with me. He even has his own side of the bed and sleeps there pretty much every night now.
● Julia Snell: Our cats love to snuggle up with us in bed, particularly in winter. We love it too, even if we end up contorting ourselves around them. It’s amazing how much space two cats can steal!
● Lesley Cochrane: Lao and Chang both have access to my bedroom. I have sarcoidosis and both seem to be in tune with when I am having a flare up.
● Heidi Symons: Sam sleeps with me every night. He’s very calming and soothing. I usually doze off pretty quick. The only time he disturbs me is if he has a seizure with his epilepsy.
● Toqa Osama: Question is: does my cat allow me to sleep on her bed (previously known as mine)!
● Kenneth Boughey: He doesn’t sleep on the bed as he’s out during the night, but he does wake me up at about 4.15am to be cuddled and fed. Then I’m up at 5am to go to work.
● Jason Smith: Our cat owns the bed in day, but is not a night bed cat.
● Rhia Watson: Absolutely! Sometimes they even leave enough space for us humans!
● Holly Quiterio: Oh yes! Our cats sleep in bed like humans, with covers and blankets over the top, with their heads out. Actually, they take most of the bed, sometimes sideways. We had to buy a super king size bed to accommodate us all! I love it — I wouldn’t be without our two purring hot water bottles after 14 —15 years of co-sleeping.
● Angelina Naim: Definitely! Princess Pebbles is great company and it’s her bed and home too. I feel much more comfortable with her next to me.
