FINDING A GOOD GROOMER

-

QI’m thinking of taking my cat to be groomed by a professional, but he is quite nervous of new people. How can I tell if the parlour is a reputable one with my cat’s well-being at heart?

AInstinct should tell you whether they are right for your cat. Do they seem to understand how to work with cats, with no dogs around? Are they sympathetic to different temperaments of cats? Have they worked with nervous cats before? My suggestion, actually, would be to get the professional to come to your home to groom so that you can be there helping and watching. See how the groomer responds to this request and also make sure you read the groomers' testimonials. Lastly, try to get a cat specific groomer and especially one that classifies themselves as a holistic cat groomer.
