PURRSONALITY
The Sokoke is a very energetic and athletic breed and therefore needs plenty of space and stimulating play time.They have a low threshold of boredom! They love to jump and climb so the provision of a strong cat tree/climbing frame is a must. Plenty of toys are also appreciated but can be quickly demolished as the Sokoke likes to play hard. So check toys regularly and discard broken ones.
They are not a cuddly breed, preferring to follow their humans around.They are friendly and extrovert, sometimes described as dog-like, and thrive in a family environment, mixing well with people of all ages, plus other cats and family pets. Although, they do need to be integrated carefully.
They are affectionate but quite demanding of attention and fuss from their owners, and may become stressed or anxious if they don’t receive it.They are also quite vocal cats with a loud voice. Originating in a hot climate, they don’t like the cold or life outdoors.
