NEED TO NEUTER?

-

QI’m bringing home a Siamese kitten soon, do I need to have him neutered? He will be an indoor cat and I’m not planning to show him, so does he still need to be ‘done’?

ADon’t even think about it! Living with an unneutered male cat in the house is smelly. Very smelly. You might get used to the smell but visitors will not. Indoor male cats that are not neutered are likely to spray mark inside the house, which is why even the most devoted cat breeders keep them in outside pens!

An entire cat will also be more motivated to escape the house to go in search of sex. Unneutered cats that are allowed outside are likely to stray, get into fights, get bitten, and are therefore vulnerable to FIV and other infectious diseases.

Neuter your kitten at the age advised by your vet. Don’t delay. Neutered cats of both sexes live longer and healthier lives. They don’t miss what they never had!
