Robotic cat finds new home

- Ann Fish

Iam writing with some sad and some good news. Pepsi, the robotic cat that Your Cat readers and the Rotary Club of Wakefield gave to my friend back in March 2020, has a new home.

Sadly, Derek passed away and the family were devastated but wanted to give the joy that Pepsi had given their dad to someone else. We decided on Belmont View Care Home in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, who were only too delighted to take on Pepsi.

Carla Silva took Pepsi on September 7 and he has been loved from the minute he arrived at the care home. The residents could not get enough of him so much so that they have now got six more cats: Tinker, Sammy, Timmy, Mazy, Biscuit, and Ginger. There is also Franky living there who was bought by one of the resident’s

own family as she loved Pepsi so much they thought she should have her own.

I thought Your Cat readers would like to know that their and the Rotary Club’s contributions have gone on to make such a big difference to the lives of so many people with dementia giving them much comfort and joy.

Here’s a picture of Pepsi being handed over with myself, Carla, and Mike Marsh representing the Rotary club. There are many pictures of all the cats on Belmont View’s Facebook page.Thank you all for making this possible.
