Branching out with fond memories
A Scottish animal charity is celebrating the lives of much-loved pets who have sadly crossed rainbow bridge. Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home, which has been part of the city’s fabric since 1883, has unveiled two beautifully crafted memory trees to help those grieving the loss of a pet.
Funded by the Tesco Bags of Help initiative, the sculptural trees in the charity’s tranquil Leo’s Garden enable people to dedicate a leaf in their cat’s memory. In addition, the home, which welcomes lost, stray, and abandoned pets from all corners of Edinburgh and the Lothians, has built a virtual memory tree for those who prefer to honour their pet in this way.
