James Bowen — Street Cat Bob owner and author

James Bowen is an author, documentary maker, and companion to the late ‘Street Cat named Bob’ — the ginger tom who inspired a series of books and films and won the hearts of millions.

“I am hoping that animal welfare charities will again have sufficient funding to relaunch their mobile clinics.They are a lifeline to people who have fallen on hard times and cannot afford regular veterinary fees. I used the services of the Blue Cross on a number of occasions when Bob first came into my life and he was injured or sick.

“For the homeless in particular, a companion animal may be their only friend and looking after them provides a reason to live and keep on going. So, I would hope that these services can be maintained and supported in 2022.”
