COOK THEM A MEAL
They say the way to one’s heart is through their stomach, so why not spend some time in the kitchen and whip up a slap-up meal for your cat? There are plenty of easy, yet tasty and nutritious recipes for cats out there, but we particularly liked this cake from Battersea which is not only healthy, but has only a few ingredients and your cat will love it.
RECIPE:
FOR THE CAKE,YOU’LL NEED:
● 50g mashed sweet potato.
● Half a tin of tuna in spring water.
● 1tsp plain flour.
THEN FOR THE DECORATION YOU’LL JUST NEED:
One mashed potato and a meaty stick treat for a candle (if required).
INSTRUCTIONS: 1
Peel and chop your sweet potato, then boil in a saucepan of water until soft.
2 Once thoroughly cooked through, leave to cool completely and then mash until smooth with no lumps.
3
Drain the tin of tuna in spring water and add half of the tin to a mixing bowl, then add your cooled sweet potato mash, followed by the flour. Mix everything together. 4
Place a round cookie cutter on a small plate and line both with baking paper. 5
Spoon the mixture into the lined ring and spread it out evenly. Put this in the fridge to set for 10 minutes. 6 To make the frosting, peel, cook, and mash the potato, leave to cool, then loosen with a little water before spooning into a piping bag. 7
Take your cake out of the fridge and remove from the mould. Pipe the cooled mash on top to decorate and add the meaty stick-shaped cat treat for a candle. Serve at room temperature.
