Cat proof the garden?

-

In the March issue of Your Cat, two questions in Cat Care concerned problems occurring when cats were roaming. One owner was worried about foxes, while the other had a cat that kept returning to its old house.

I wonder if the owners had considered cat proofing the garden, or part of it? I did this when I moved to my small town nearly six years ago. I had lived in a very rural area where my cats were allowed to roam, but I didn’t feel I could let them do that here as they had no road sense.

Protectapet enclosed my garden, making it completely escape-proof. I was worried that the cats might not like it, but they took to it instantly, even the one who was used to having an enormous territory of his own. He in particular seemed to like the fact that he didn’t have to wander for miles any more, and that no other cats could get in. It was the best thing I ever did and my five cats are safe and happy. Here is a photo of the garden showing the fence.
