Always there to help
Cat Watch is always offering help and advice to those in need, and during the coronavirus lockdown 2020, began a kitty food bank to help those struggling to feed their cats.
“We received a lot of food donations, so we started offering a cat food bank so if people were struggling, instead of just giving up their cats, they could come to us,” Marnie said.
People finding cats in their gardens are also urged to help. Instead of feeding them for lengths of time, take them to the vet or call Cat Watch to find out if they are owned and if they have a microchip.
“A lot of the time, people will find a stray cat in their garden and will carry on feeding them, so over time if they are ill, they often won’t realise it until it’s too late,” Marnie said.“So we’d want people to contact us or a vet straight away if they think they have found a stray.”
The charity is always in need of more dry cat food to keep their feline clients well fed, see how you can help below.
