FELINE CHLAMYDOPHILOSIS (CHLAMYDIA)
Feline chlamydia is caused by a type of bacteria and is contagious between cats. It attacks a kitten’s lungs, stomach, and intestines. The most obvious sign of chlamydia is persistent conjunctivitis, and other symptoms include sneezing, runny eyes, a fever, and breathing difficulties. The most effective way of protecting your kitten against chlamydia is vaccinating him. If he hasn’t had this vaccine and catches chlamydia, then he will need to be prescribed antibiotics from the vet and be kept away from any other cats until the infection has cleared.
