Feline chlamydia is caused by a type of bacteria and is contagious between cats. It attacks a kitten’s lungs, stomach, and intestines.The most obvious sign of chlamydia is persistent conjunctiv­itis, and other symptoms include sneezing, runny eyes, a fever, and breathing difficulti­es.The most effective way of protecting your kitten against chlamydia is vaccinatin­g him. If he hasn’t had this vaccine and catches chlamydia, then he will need to be prescribed antibiotic­s from the vet and be kept away from any other cats until the infection has cleared.
