Your Chickens - - Contents - Simon McEwan Editor

Spring hasn’t quite sprung, but it is certainly drawing closer, and our thoughts are turning towards renewal and new life. What better time to plan hatching some chicks ready for Easter? In this issue of Your Chickens we devote a full NINE pages to the whole subject of hatching, starting on page 6, with plenty of advice and information. We are even giving away a £295 Incubation Starter Kit from specialists Brinsea. Julie Moore says the secret of happy hatching is to think like a Mother Hen; she is the expert, and we can learn a lot by watching her rear and care for her babies. In a separate feature, Sarah McKenzie sounds a note of caution. One key consideration is what to do with those surplus males!

In the last issue, we carried a special report from The National Poultry Show. This month it is the turn of the other big national poultry event, The Federation Championship Show. See pages 30-32 to enjoy all the beautiful birds!
