Your Chickens - - Charlotte's Chickens -

The last few weeks have been pretty terrible weather wise and not pleasant for our hens. The wind and rain is not a great combination. I find my hens’ feed gets wet as, although it is in covered containers, the rain arrives horizontally and soaks the feed. I try and put some of the containers under cover. If you can, try and give your hens somewhere covered to shelter; they will really appreciate it.

False eggs are great for encouraging hens to lay in the nest you want them to lay in but try to go for china or ceramic eggs that hens cannot peck through. See this rubber egg which has been eaten into – can’t have been good for the culprit hen!
