Readers’ photos

Sally Langston sent in this picture which scoops our £25 prize this month. It features the cute Weeble, a blue mottled pekin bantam aged just two weeks. Sally, from Oswestry, Shropshire, says: “I have six adult balls of Frizzle fluffiness and three Frizzle chicks that I hatched this year. This was the first time I had hatched under a broody and the first time the mother hen had hatched chicks too.”

Charlotte Flatman sent in this picture of Celia. “She’s super friendly and will follow you around all day. She also quite likes a cuddle. We rehomed her as part of a flock of hens,” Charlotte says.

This little girl is two-year-old Nel from North Wales holding her favourite pekin hen, Mrs Pekin. She was hatched by Nel, her siblings and her mum, Caren Jones. It looks as though Nel has a great taste in sunglasses as well as poultry — and has anyone noticed how her cool shades match Mrs Pekin’s comb?
